General Application Process

Your path to us – step by step

In our job portal, you will find all current vacancies, internships and other career opportunities. Choose a suitable listing and find out more about the position. If the role is right for you, click the “Apply” button. If there is currently nothing suitable, we would still be pleased to receive your speculative application.

To get in touch with you, we need your contact details. Please complete all mandatory fields. All other information is optional.

Upload your application documents

Please provide your CV as well as any relevant employment references and certificates. A cover letter is not mandatory, but it gives you the opportunity to tell us more about your experience and motivation.

Personal interview

If your profile matches the role, we will invite you to a personal interview. This will be attended by colleagues from both HR and the specialist department. Depending on the position, further interviews may follow.

Application review

Our HR team will review your application against the requirements of the advertised role. If your qualifications match the requirements profile, your application will be forwarded to the relevant specialist department.

Receive confirmation of receipt

Once you have successfully submitted your application, you will receive an automatic confirmation of receipt within a few minutes. If you have any questions, we will be happy to help at any time.

Contract offer

Application Process for Internships and Theses

Your start at BMA, step by step

Find an internship or thesis opportunity

For internships and theses (Bachelor’s/Master’s), please apply via the “Speculative application” tab. In your application, let us know what you are interested in and indicate your preferred time period. We offer various types of internships, including pre-study internships, mandatory internships and work experience placements for school students.

Digital introduction

When we have found a suitable opportunity, we will invite you to a digital introductory meeting. Interviews are generally not held for pre-study internships or work experience placements for school students.

We will check whether an internship or thesis opportunity is available during your preferred time period and whether we have the capacity to support it.

As the next step, we will invite you to an assessment with tasks related to your chosen apprenticeship.

General

How can I apply?
You can only apply online via our careers portal. Unfortunately, we are unable to consider paper applications or applications sent by email.
Which documents are required?
For your application, we need your current CV as well as relevant employment references and qualification certificates or school reports. A cover letter is not mandatory, except for apprenticeship applications. However, it gives you the opportunity to tell us more about your motivation and previous experience.
Do I need to include an application photo?
No, uploading an application photo is entirely optional. If you do not upload a photo, this will not be viewed negatively in any way.
Can I also submit a speculative application?
Yes, you can submit a speculative application at any time. If there is currently no suitable vacancy advertised for you, we would still be pleased to receive your application under “Speculative application”.
How long does the application process take?
The duration of the application process depends on various factors, particularly the number of applications we receive. However, we will do our best to get back to you as quickly as possible.
Will I receive confirmation of receipt?
Yes. Once you have successfully submitted your application, you will usually receive an automatic confirmation of receipt by email within a few minutes.
Who takes part in the interview?
As a rule, representatives from HR and colleagues from the relevant specialist department take part in the interview.
How is the interview held?
Interviews usually take place in person on site. In certain cases, it may make sense to start with a digital introductory meeting.

Internships

What types of internships do you offer?
Depending on the department and availability, we offer work experience placements for school students, mandatory internships, voluntary internships, practical semesters and pre-study internships. The available opportunities may vary depending on the time period. Internships are not only possible in technical departments or production, but also, depending on requirements and availability, in commercial, administrative and other areas of the company.
Do you offer pre-study internships?
In principle, we do offer pre-study internships. However, due to university internship guidelines, we can only guarantee a four-week internship in the area of production processes. Pre-study internships are not offered in September, as this is when our new apprentices start each year

Working Student & Thesis

Do you offer working student roles?
Yes, we regularly offer working student roles in various areas of the company. The specific opportunities available depend on current requirements. These roles are not limited to technical departments or production, but may also include commercial, administrative and other specialist areas, depending on requirements.
Do you offer thesis opportunities?
Yes, we regularly offer Bachelor’s and Master’s thesis opportunities in various areas of the company. The opportunities available depend on current capacity and a suitable topic. Theses are not only possible in technical departments or production, but may also be completed in commercial, administrative and other specialist areas, depending on the topic and available support capacity.

Apprenticeships

How does the apprenticeship work?
You will spend the first 18 months of your industrial apprenticeship in our training workshop. There, you will learn basic skills such as filing and sawing. Afterwards, as part of your practical training within the company, you will rotate through various areas of production.

Tip 9: Interview dress code We do not have a fixed dress code. What matters is that you feel comfortable in what you wear. When you feel comfortable, you can be yourself and focus fully on the conversation. We want to get to know you, not judge your outfit.
